Steel clutch fluid line anyone?

Since my tranny is coming out soon, id like to replace the plastic with the steel. But at 240 bucks it seems way too expensive.. Is tehre a way to make my own for less money? or is there somewhere other than american muscle that has it cheaper?

Slickman I believe just installed one on his Mustang. I think it was the JHR high volume line? I checked it out once and remember it being significantly cheaper than the FRPP line. Check it out!

Mmmm, few minutes later:

There you go! I'm sure Slickman can chime in.

I ordered mine from here:

Awesome guys! I only imagine the reason the FRPP one is so expensive is because its FRPP and has a prebended solid line? Mainly because its FRPP tho i am sure lol.

Ok so ordering the line today. I like 60 bucks vs 240...
Do i need to fix the line to anything when i install it, or is it like a brake hose and just goes from point A to point B?

RouschGT have you noticed any difference with the new line? I am not expecting any really, but am just wondering?

RoushGT 08-03-2012 07:22 AM

I don't have it installed yet, so I can't say for sure. I am having issues with my clutch not disengaging fully, so the tranny is coming out. I figured I would go ahead and install this at the same time. But the reason I ordered it was due to Slickman and this thread...

https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...lem-still.html

Watch the youtube video on page 6 of the thread. Slickman also did a number of other improvements to improve full throttle shifts, with great success.

The video was very informative. Now that i watched it and read the posts on that thread, i remember since i bought the car new it never shifted seamlessly. Especially when cold.
Its gonna feel like a new machine once i successfully manage to do all this work on it lol.

Add an 1/8" shim between your clutch slave and the transmission if you don't find anything wrong. Check the pilot bearing too.

Well I am not replacing the clutch kit, since it was replaced last summer. And the Ram kit came with a shim so that whole mess is going back in as it came out.
I am assuming installing the Ram Steel flywheel will not complicate matters.....
Now that i am thinking... Anyone have an alignment tool i could borrow???
