typically with my cars I will read oil analysis samples and use those with good scores. on the 350z forums, someone compiled a spreadsheet showing all of the submitted / posted analsys pages onto a single page and ranked the oils. it was pretty sweet. it was very obvious that the castrol blends were favored for the vq35de

I can't say I've read into it enough just yet for the coyote - and as such, am using motorcraft until I do. all of these replies are absolutely worthless if it's just based on brand preference. different engines like different oils, I've never seen a single brand score high across the board no matter the engine. I don't see why people develop brand preferences for oils and try to justify it without having the scientific data to back it up.

I have been using Royle Purple 5w20 but my car burns it or sends it through the pcv, don't have catch cans. About to try something else, Amsoil maybe or go back with the motorcraft.

Get your engine checked while its still under warranty. You shouldn't have that kind of blow-by regardless of the oil. How many quarts per 1000 mi.?

Honestly....it doesn't matter what you use. If you change the oil every 5000 miles, you will NEVER have an oil related failure.

That being said....I have 145,000 miles on my 07 GT with a manual 5 speed.....I change the oil every 5000 miles with 5w20 motorcraft synthetic blend oil, and every time I pour out the old, it looks just about like the new I put back in. Why spend more than you need to???

I usually use Pennzoil Ultra in mine for longer intervals, although this time around I was pushed into using Mobil 1 since that's what was around. As others have chimed in, if you change your oil regularly you'll never have a problem.

Last two times I changed it at 7k miles (which is short) and it's almost a quart low. I'm sure the dealership will say thats normal.

I am also tuned with a few bolt-ons so warranty is void I am sure.
