Default Manual trans scheduled maintenance makes no sense

Looking by accident at the wrong year I discovered something I don't understand. Looking at the schedule maintenance the 05 and 06 manual trans fluid should be changed at 60k but the 07 at 100k yet they use the same fluid and capacity, why?

In 08 they switched over to Mercon V with the same capacity yet you only get an extra 5k miles between changes compared to the 07.

So why is the 07 different from the 05 & 06? Is the trans different?

Default

Because less maintenance equals less overall maintenance cost which looks better on paper.

The same reason the oil intervals are now 7500 miles or some junk like that.

Stop looking at that book...
