mustang0672 08-19-2012 11:12 AM

NO, IMO. Its your car do what you want.

AzPete 08-19-2012 11:39 AM

Doesn't do it for me......

siggyfreud 08-19-2012 12:08 PM

It's not bad. Not my stylistic preference, but I don't think it looks bad. +1 for being unique tho!

Tanner05 08-19-2012 12:39 PM

I think it looks good, OP.

fedfireman 08-19-2012 12:40 PM

IMHO, this is THE sexiest color combo for red cars. That being said, there is something about those wheels that looks off with the red lip.

Saleens or cobra replicas would look amazing with a red pinstripe.

But as she sits I like it man.

aaquib1992 08-19-2012 01:06 PM

Meh, looks okay to me. If you like it, keep it. It's not like you chromed your windshield wipers or anything haha.

Better mod would be a new front bumper, or maybe a chin spoiler. Even a lowering would look good. BTW, how wide are those tires out of curiosity?

808muscle 08-19-2012 08:01 PM

You some some BMR lowering springs and it'll look great.

loaded6shooter 08-19-2012 09:06 PM

damn you guys are ruthless lol

i like em! get a nice set of springs and lower it down a bit and it would look great in my opinion

05gtdriver 08-19-2012 09:25 PM

IMHO, too Ricky Ricer, the red lip look went out about 7-8 years ago, but as others have said, it's your ride, it's your $, if you dig it, who cares what others(us) think, right?
Although dumping your V-6 would help a ton in making it look more aggressive, best of luck!

fedfireman 08-24-2012 10:22 PM

Considering the styling cues of our cars are over 50 years old... I'd say it's ok to do a 7-8 year throwback... just saying.

OP, I will be throwing a red pinstripe on my wheels when I get them so we can be ricky ricer together.

my v6 looks more aggressive than your v8 =-P

2cokeman 08-25-2012 08:57 AM

Ricey, sorry!

Rolling13 08-25-2012 10:34 AM

This can work very well, you just need a plan. As a few said lower it and do something with the front and it will start to work well.

LOL, the Mustang is only 48 years old, but point taken, although I don't think Detroit designers in 1962-64 were contemplating red lipped wheels, but then again, red line tires were the rage in the mid to late 60s.......

Yes, your V-6 looks very sweet, but I'm too old(well, I feel old-hahaha) for slammed suspensions(a 1" drop with progressive type springs are what I could possibly tolerate) and
scoops, wings and big hoods. My stock glasstop '09 fits my tastes and sense of style, but the beauty of our Mustangs is that there's something for everyone :)

MoshpitMad 08-26-2012 08:54 AM

I think lowering it will make it look better.

For now, it just looks like you bought a wheel/tire package from the local tire store.

LOL, yea I meant 40... but yea I'm glad you got my point lol.

I just think the mustang community is very conservative when it comes to styling. Some things look good on all cars regardless of their origin on a map. Some things only look good on certain cars, but that's mostly crazy things like giant wings only look good on actual race cars, lifts only look good on 4x4 vehicles, etc.

I came from the import community and think a lot could be learned from it when it comes to looks. (when you drive a 4 banger you HAVE to make it look good!)

black_on_black 08-30-2012 08:43 PM

Could use a little lowering to help the stance but looks good

HAHAHA!!! :icon_imnotworthy:

coolasice 08-30-2012 11:33 PM

It's not bad...hard to tell from the pic though. Is it the same red as the body color? i think that's where you'll run into issues...getting a matching red. If your car was black it'd be pretty safe i think. Again though it's really hard tell rims from pictures i find...in person i'd say alot of rims look totally different than in pics.

audioAl 08-31-2012 05:04 AM

Dang! Dump the 6? My new 3.7 will keep up with your GT.

Won't keep up with mine ;-) lol.

No, those new V6's are pretty stout.

George_ORH 08-31-2012 09:29 AM

The red lip looks ok, I wish that car was a glass top....But I'm a bit partial to a glass top look! haha.

I agree, but the glass top option was pretty rare on the 09s...

Kinda sad, because the 05-09 models look really good with the blacked out roof.
