I will agree with you that any locking lug nut can be removed, but not all can be removed easily. have you dealt with these in particular before? I'd wager most wheel thiefs would come unprepared to deal with these.
when there's a will .. there's a way, but these will definitely slow a thief down. worth the investment? no way. I'd rather file an insurance claim.

Those looks pretty good entaille. If they're rare enough or spendy enough, they might just deter someone, unless your wheels are really worth it. But frankly, if you had one of those on every lug, it would probably be quicker to put the car on flatbed.

It been on the rise this past summer. Just do a search for theives steal wheels off dealership cars. No fewer than 6 unrelated stories show up since June of this year.

Someone looking to steal rims couldn't care less about our GDP or unemployment rate. That's why they're taking other people's stuff and not working. There's been thieves in good and bad times.
