If you're worried about the family, then I think you want to stay relatively tame compared to all the options that are out there. My M90 is on a factory Roush car with no mods, and putting 390 - 400 to the ground, and it will break loose easily if you hammer it. If you're in a turn, you REALLY have to be on top of things, or you're going on a ride (into a curb, pole, tree, etc.). Maybe stay in the 435 HP (stock Roush M90) to 475 HP (smaller pulley, tune, CAI M90). Also, the Saleen 475 HP supercharger would be an option from Brenspeed, I believe. Anything more than 500 HP makes your concerns a lot more valid. Just my 2 cents.

You can have factory OEM components and 450rwhp for around $3500 with a GT500 blower and DOB manifold. Kind of makes everything else look like a waste of money.

Adding just a cai and bspeed tune to my 06 auto shaved a half second off my quarter mile times. It would chirp second and third gear. Its the single best bang for the buck mod for an auto car. Add in 4.10 gears and the car just hauls *** though town a real blast to drive. Its night and day vs a stock auto car.
Now with the m90, my car dangerous. With dry pavement I do not go WOT in any gear. It just spins. I have learned to roll into the throttle. On wet roads.....it can feel like ice.
Since your wife and daughter are gonna drive this car seriously just consider the cai tune upgrade.

Conventional thinking says a torque convertor is only for the track so u can start at a higher rpm without wheel spin. But thats not all it does. It keeps your car in the power band through all the shifts. Of all my mods I have enjoyed this one the most. It's crazy how much more torque u gain with one. If ur looking to increase fun factor and don't want a supercharger then pair this mod with a CAI. As far as how one works I couldn't really tell you.
