Default Excessive exhaust residue?

For quite awhile now my exhaust tips have been very dirty (on the inside). I switched to Pypes "Pype Bomb" the other day, and just after 2 days (less than 50 miles) I had enough grim inside the tips to wipe my finger on it and look like I was playing with coal.

Could this be due to having a tune that's too rich? Or possibly from excessive oil being burned via the PCV? A oil separator IS on my list since I consume about 1/2qt. in 6k miles, but I feel like that can't be the major contributor to my problem since no one else seems to have this much grim and I know they don't have catch cans.

Here's some pictures of my old Magnaflows. These don't due enough justice. The inside of the over-axle pipes looked like a horrible chimney flue. Thanks guys

Maybe a running rich problem, I do see alot of cars like this, I must say tho that mine stay shiny even after several runs.

I currently have a Brenspeed 93 tune, so if I can get some verification that this is indeed the issue, I will contact them and ask if they can tweek my tune. I just want to make sure I don't ask for something that is totally irrelevant to my issue, lol!

Looks normal to me.....the fuel these days is not like the "clean" burning fuel with lead in it from the days of old.

From the picture it looks more dark gray than coal black. If its gray it is normal. Black could mean rich. Do a log file and send it to the tuner.

It's pitch black. Like I said, 50 miles and a quick wipe with my hand and it looked like I was holding coal.

I don't know how to do anything with my tuner other than plug it in and upload a tune

I'll experiment with my tuner tonight and attempt to figure out how to do a data log.
