Default 2007 Mustang Check Charging System Light Sporadically comes on :(

2007 Mustang Check Charging System Light Sporadically comes on . It came on twice already. The battery warning light and the Check Charging System Message. I don't what it can be. Can anyone chime in on a fix.

Thanks Everyone.

Go to your local parts store and just have them run a check on your battery and alternator. It's free.

Huh?

The S197 is notorious for charging system issues. Typically the battery will degrade the alternator or vice-versa. Have them both load tested. And if it's the stock MotorCrap battery, you're long overdue for a replacement. Be glad it hasn't stranded you yet.

In fact they have gone through four different alternator models for these year models I believe.

Our 06GT had to have an alternator swap after we put a new radio in.
And it wasnt even one that was considered to need a lot of power.

Both the parts and service guy told me they had problems with numerous alternator models and I'm pretty sure they said they went through four different updated ones before they found the one that worked.

I got a new battery last year and to Nuke I'm just upset that I might need to get a new alternator.

Be lucky you need a new alternator at 112k miles. I needed one at 48k miles. FYI. $200 and install it yourself if you can.

Ours needed it at about 40 something K miles.

I think it ended up being like 300 bucks or so if I remember correctly.
