Hyundai (for the veloster) started offering a matte finish car with an 11 page care manual for it this year...lol. Average car owner doesn't care so in a couple of years we'll see a bunch of matte finish cars that look like poo.
the article applies to any kind of material, paint, vinyl, whatever. It's just about the basic physical properties that make a surface, in the simplest terms, dull looking or shiny.
