I was a 3rd grader in English class, at a government public school in Malaysia. When I got home, my parents sat me down, read the news to me, and told me to study very hard and leave this country.

In case you didn't know, the attacks were planned at a hotel in Malaysia, my home country.. not to mention, me and my family are Muslims. We were very saddened by this incident and we were even more embarrassed.

I studied very hard from then on, and when I was 18 (last year), my parents sent me to continue my education here in the United States. This year, they bought me my '08 Mustang.. people are often surprised to find out I am Muslim because I am Asian and I lead such a 'normal life', driving my 'stang around Los Angeles with the top down.. well what do they expect, me wearing a turban and riding a camel?

My condolences to those who lost their loved ones, both friends and family, in the tragic incident. Let's all rebuild this world into a better place..
