Default Is trading a 2011 v6 for a 2008 gt an upgrade or downgrade?

The local dealer has a Bullit special edition on the lot. 38k miles, perfect paint, hurst shifter, immaculate interior. They are asking $25,900.

I've always loved those cars, the color, the sound, the simple exterior sans spoiler, etc. and I'm a fan of the movie that inspired it.

But to get it,I'd have to trade in my 2011 v6. I special ordered this car exactly as I wanted it and have some aftermarket customizing as well. It has just over 21k miles.

The only reason I'm considering this is because my gearbox is junk. I hate driving it. It isn't "broken" enough for Ford to give a crap, but that is a different discussion.

Anyone owned a gt of the 2008 or thereabouts vintage with advice? I'd appreciate it.

Btw, here's what I have now. It always turns heads and gets compliments, even from non car people:

Upgrade on sound and maybe potential power output, but a downgrade everywhere else I'd imagine.

Yeah, this.

But we 05-09'ers do have the better rear end

You will be upgrading in torque, downgrading on the interior. But since it is a Bullit edition, the retro interior would probably be preferred anyway.

I love my '08 GT. I have the premium model with the interior upgrade package and the premeir trim package, so I love my interior. There are numerous tried and true mods available for the 4.6 that increase horsepower/torque. Just make sure you plan out what you want based on how you will be using the car.

$25,900 seems a bit high to me. You should be able to get them down under $20k...

Good luck!

You have a gorgeous car. However, if you can get the '08 with no extra money and keeping the same monthly payment I would seriously consider it (but this is coming from someone who likes the simplicity of the '05-'09 interiors and exterior.)

The leather seats in the '05-'09s are **** compared to the newer 'Stangs, IMO.

If they want additional money for the Bullitt, then look into having your transmission fixed.

I'd say this will be the common opinion but everyone places different weight on various aspects of cars, and everyone likes different things.

up for you to figure out amigo.

This is about on par with what I would say..

Nothing beats the V8 rumble, don't care what you did to the 6.. Power is about the same, sure the bullit has a few upgrades.. The interior is pretty fugly in the 05-09 IMO.. There's nothing truly special about the Bullit other than the name... It's just not going to be as "nice" overall in regards to quality..

And on top of that, 25K is an insanely retarded price for any 08 GT.. You could get an '11 5.0 for that price

I'd argue that the 2013 rear end looks much nicer than yours!
