Ins Co can NOT tell you to have it done any where. You can have them arrange repair if you wish but you have the final say, no matter what state or Ins Co you use.

You can use the $$ they give you for any thing you want. You dont even have to get car repaired. You can install any part you want in place of the OEM parts.

Once you agree to let the Ins Co repair & shop agrees to their terms/parts etc then you cant change it in mid repair as the shop is now being paid by the Ins Co.

If new damage is found by shop all you need to is call Ins Co & they should issue a supplemental claim/check to the shop or you. I just went thru this, this summer.

Got the car back today - detailed inside and out - down to the last square inch - even the tires.

Meh, I think yesterday I was on a hair trigger because of everything that was going on. Overall I'm pretty happy.
