According to AM it doesn't require a tune for the GT model but the reviewers all say it needs a tune.

I was reading bbk website they state i may need to run higher octane fuel

You'll probably just run lean until you tune for the intake. Higher octane fuel might help, but I doubt it will keep you from spitting a code without being tuned for the CAI.

It's hit or miss. Most no-tune required CAI's won't but each engine is a but different and operating parameters change with variations in temperature and humidity so it may not and then out of the blue. Try it.

Can i use the k & n cleaner and oil for the filter?

The previous owner put a BBK CAI on my '08 GT & it's not thrown a code yet... knock wood I emailed him & he did NOT put a tune on it. Yes if the K&N fits & seals ok, it should work as long as it's the gauze type, & if it is, don't over oil it. A little is better than a lot here. Tread lightly & let it soak in for a 1/2 hour, then check it to see if you need more.. If not the guaze type, don't oil it.

*just reread your post. Are you talking about using a K&N filter, or just using the K&N oil?

K&N air filter oil will work for ANY oiled air filter. Just be sure to thoroughly wash and rinse the old filter and allow it to dry 24 hours (a little less if you can get a little forced airflow thru it) before reoiling.

Just need a cleaning/oil kit. Filter is dirty.
