what did you end up going with?? I am looking at the same GT500 wheels on AM. Still deciding on staggered vs standard 18s. Plan to use my stock 17s with winter tires for the cold months here in virginia.

I love it, but then again I really love twisty country roads and hard turns and all that more than just a straight highway blast.. I used to live in the mountains years ago and would blast up and down every so often. I got more of a thrill out of going down the mountain doing 60 pushing the car to edge in a turn than I did going 130+ down a straight..
I agree with you nothing like canyon roads most fun ever!

Staggered will tend to be a little better in a straight line in the dry, and definitely poorer at cornering in the wet (especially where the transition from slightly greater understeer to throttle-caused oversteer will be more sudden).

If you don't have any sort of power adder, there is no performance-based reason for going staggered on a 4.6L GT. Only your appearance preference (which is OK too, just not something that needs my input on).

Va drivers - it's been quite a while, but I remember that some of Virginia's 3-digit county route numbers were pretty challenging drives in places.

Haven't decided on tires yet. I'm still waiting to jump the gun. Mainly waiting to make sure I have enough to buy the tires and still have money for gas/payments. I'm hoping to have everything bought by the end of the month. If everything goes the way I want it, that is.

I was mainly going for staggered because it looks great on any Mustang. Not too concerned about driving conditions as I have a back-up vehicle for that.

Going back to my last unanswered question, does anyone have any input?

Obviously NITTO makes those sizes, but NEXEN only offers the 255/45/18 size in their N3000 and N7000 models. I want the N7000 but they don't offer the rear tire sizes. Is there a tire size that is very similar that I could buy that would fit the rears?

Those are the only sizes for 18" Rims. Yes/No/Maybe?

GT500s here on NT555s.

They look great (wheel design and tread pattern), and they aren't too bad in the rain... I baby it because even in a tuned 6, it's way easy to spin that read tire and kick out the back end on corners.

However, I've also heard that the Sumitomos cause a little more road noise.
