..And in Canada to boot. Masochist.

Anyhow, ya OP, you "fixed" it backwards now. The arrow indicates airflow, as air is pulled into the cabin, hence being named a cabin air filter....The arrow shown on the top of the filter needs to be pointing toward the rear of the vehicle when you re-secure the filter-housing.

Seems to be basic common sense to me, but everybody misses the obvious sometimes..It's still going to "filter" backwards, but obviously not ideal.

In both my 08 Bullitt and my 2012 GT the cabin filter arrow is facing the front, towards the bumper. But as stated above it does not matter which way a clean filter is installed. The arrow is there so if you reinstall the same dirty filter it has to go back in facing the same direction it came out or you will blow the dust and dirt into the cabin.

It should be called a climate control filter instead of a cabin air filter, just so it'll stop confusing Nuke. It's function is to keep debris out of your heater motor and A/C evap coils. Not blowing it in your face is just a bonus.

Get a leaf stuck in your heater's squirrel cage once and you'll know what the filter is for.

+1 any filters (air/fuel/or otherwise) with arrows on them is to indicated the direction of flow so the arrows should always point in the direction of the flow regardless of how it was installed previously (as in maybe it was done incorrectly the first time).

Wat? It's facing toward you when you put it into the housing, when you put the housing back with the new filter the arrow should be facing the rear of the car. This has not changed, or is different in the models, or other cars for that matter.

Fresh air gets pulled in through the filter in that compartment, air flow arrow when secured...Faces the direction the air is going. Tain't a hard concept.
