Any photos of after martket speakers in 2013 GT Prem?
I bought a pair of Polk 5x7" door speakers for my 2013 GT Prem but they are completely different than the exisiting speakers. These speakers would have fit w/o modification in my 2010 GT Prem but Ford has redesigned the door apparently on the 2013. The mounting holes are completely different and weird on the 2013. They will fit only with some kind of spacer or brace.
Crutchfield sells an adapter brace that you have to cut and modify that suppose to be used for cases like this. I was wondering if anyone had any photos showing how they mounted after market speakers in a 2013 GT Prem.
Thanks.

Two more photos. One shows the pre-scored plastic board that Crutchfield sent me which is suppose to be use to adapt different speakers to a car. As you can see I was able to cut out the big hole for the speaker. I still need to trim it down to size once I take the door panel off again. The second photo shows the original Ford speaker from my 2010 GT Prem next to the new Polk. As I stated before, the 2010 speaker and the Polk fit interchangably where as the 2013 door and speaker are not the same.

UPDATED - New Speakers Installed
I ordered the spacers from Tousley Ford and they are a God send. Made the job a million times easier. Attached are some photos showing the spacers, the 2013 GT speakers I took out, the replacement Polk Audios and the speakers from my 2010 GT for comparision.

The highs and mid range are much better. But I am not sure if the bass is better or not. I think the my 2010 sound a bit better on the low end but I am not sure. One of the things I need to check is the phasing of the speakers (the replacement speakers and the factory sub woffers). If the subs and replacement speakers are out of phase, it will hurt the bass. I used the Crutchfield adatpor cable to connect to the Ford wiring. But I don't know yet if the Ford speakers and the Polk speakers have the same phase. I will check to see and report back here.

The phasing is not with the speaker it's with the set up of your amp. So long as all the speakers have the same wire considered positive this phasing is correct.
For instance if this left speaker has positive as positive and the right speaker has the negative is the positive, the two speakers will fight each other
