You checked the tailpipes only?.. I'd check the whole exhaust, mine was loos around the x-pipe..

To be honest with you I had a very similar issue happen with mine a few days ago. Even though mine's a shelby... it wasn't a snake either. It sounded like the exhaust rubbing up on the heat shield, but it was coming from drivers side rear as well. It started out faint about a week ago, but then got much more noticeable at idle. I listened from underneath the car at idle and it sounded like it was coming from the driver's side muffler. I pulled it off and knocked on it and there is definitely something loose inside of it. I just put on the new Borla Stinger axle-backs and it sounds **** now.

Do you have stock axle-backs?

The rear noise comes from the exhaust hanger closest to the bumper hitting the frame. Apparently at high speeds the exhaust moves back a bit, then after a while it goes back to original position, so when you look under the car everything seems normal.

I had this problem too. Solved it by removing the hanger and welding it back further to the front of the car, so even if it moves back under speed it will not rub.

Mine started doing it when I got Pypes muffler deletes.

I am running stock axle backs. Maybe I could pay my local muffler shop a visit.

The whole exhaust moves when it heats up, so looking at it cold isn't enough.

Well, I suppose I should just max my car out for a little while, then stick my bare hand under the car right? Hahahaha

Can anyone supply me a picture of the problem area they are describing so I can have a look myself?

If you lie on your back under the drivers side rear of the car near the muffler. There are 2 hanger brackets but one is towards the front of the car and can't rub on anything. The other is towards the back of the muffler and you should be able to see it pretty easily. Since I've owned it my car has never had stock mufflers on it so I'm not sure how long the hangers are.
