hah.. I probably have 25,000 posts in OT I just pop in the coyote 5.0 now and not much happens in there. I browse the other s197 sections sometimes but i rarely decide to comment on something, there are plenty of others for that.

as far as the burnout goes make a puddle of water under your tires.. and at the drag strip do the burnout in the vht (even though they dont like it, i do it) i'd think that might be easier to spin/better for your clutch. just make sure you start moving forward out of it before you finish your burnout.

also.. for that guy talking about his 2011 with 3.31,s your ratios look like this

1st 3.66:1
2nd 2.43:1
3rd 1.69:1

riptides looks like this

1st Gear: 3.38:1
2nd Gear: 2.00:1
3rd Gear: 1.32:1

so.. it isn't a straight across 3.31s vs 4.10s comparison... and i believe the 2011s have a better clutch but i dunno.. auto ftw

In my 2003 mustang i tried the 2nd gear start and it burned the clutch like i described

i also did a massive powershift burnout going to redline in 1st while spinning the tires at like 4 mph then hitting 2nd and the tires kept spinning for like 100 feet , no brakes, pic below

this was 1st gear until 5 mph (about 5 feet), then 2nd gear , bone stock 2003 mustang no brakes, clutch caught fine here

Lol nice burn
I had the same issue when i first tryed 2nd gear burn out, car would just die then slowly pull, no spin at all, i fixed my **** now the car is powerful enough, but it was on a hot day from adead point on 20"... My question is. At 380whp, even if i try hard. I cant spin the third gear, i can spin easily 1-2 then try te third it will alway buck down to lows rpm..
Even in water and with giving it
Some gas while shifting...is it normal cuz im missing more whp to spin threw third gear or im i doing sumthing wrong while shifting

my 2011 i went from 1st to 4th accidently during a burnout and it slipped also
Spec stage 3+ will fix that problem. your input shaft will twist off before the clutch slips!

Oh yah when I go to practice I'm taking some water with me. Burnout in the VHT? Isn't that the traction compound/sticky stuff? Seems like burning out with the tire actually in contact with that stuff would just make spinning them harder.
auto ftw
As far as ratios go I'm curious to see how 2nd gear in a 4.10 car compares to 1st gear in a 3.55 car. Assuming 3650 transmission and stock tire height. Auto FTW - I agree. At the drag strip anyway. Beyond that I still don't care for them.

What I need is some magic thing that makes swapping the clutch a 2 hour job. lol it will take me a longggg time to do it.

I think he means the wet box. VHT is sticky like tar. Definitely not gonna help you burnout.
