As most know, no Shelby's had automatic. I just clicked the ad and it even says GT Premium, so it must have been changed. Question answered!

It's got a plate on the center of the dash. Still likely to be authentic. You may be thinking of the GT500 which is only manual.

OP, I would still go for a 11-12 5.0 for just a few grand more. Also, get a stick if you can drive one. I regret not getting a manual after I learned to drive one in five minutes..

It's a shelby gt.. not a GT500... I'm sure there are many automatics...

Shelby GT's also had a hood scoop special to that model. That car isn't a Shelby anything....except maybe wannabe. Also has the 6er pony emblems on the front fenders, not GT emblems.

The car looks legit, just thought it was odd the window sticker doesn't show it.

I hear you guys, I know its a shelby gt and yes some, very few, did come with automatics, I visited the plant out in las vegas back in 2008 when they were being converted from regular GT's, just havent seen prices that low, usually being sold mid-to high 20's. Guess this one is priced just right, wish the 500's were around this price, haha.

That is true but I personally couldn't tell if it had that hood scoop or not, the pictures are crap. And the badges could easily be replaced. Some do prefer the tri-bar pony emblem.

Thanks for that, this does confirm any question about it being a real shelby GT and it certainly is, as these were the only cars that came from the factory with the "GT upfitters package," as shown on the sticker. These cars were then were sent directly to shelby las vegas and converted to shelby GT's. The link you posted is for the ford factory sticker before it was converted, so shelby added their own sticker after it was converted, but won't show up on ford's database..


Also, just found out the car sold within hours according to a shelby forum, as the dealership didn't realize what exactly it was, and was one of 148 Automatic Coupes (130 Vista Blue Auomatic Coupes). Someone in fact did get a amazing deal!!

That's a matter of opinion. I wouldn't have paid that for it. Sorry, but even as 1 of 48, if it doesn't do it for you, it's not worth it. People think that Stangs, even that one, will be a collectors item. Think again.

It looks legit. Bumpers are the CS which is correct. Not wing, correct hood scoop. The plaques with the SGT#, which can be verified if you call Shelby. And price is fair. If you like it, then get it. That is also an asking price. There is always room to wiggle as well.
