Default Ticking at start up coming from dashboard

Everytime I start my car i get this ticking noise for about 5-10 seconds coming from the dashboard. Its not from the radio, I am thinking maybe the A/C but im not sure.

Anyone have this happen to them before? I am going to try and record it and post the video but thought I would post this right away and see if anyone knows anything.

Thanks in advance

Woah, no way. This happened to me for the first time this morning and I also have a 2010 GT. I have no idea what it is but I'm sub'd for replies.

There are 4 motors attached to the big black a/c unit under the dash. The gears in the strip out. They aren't to expensive and can be had from your local Ford dealer. They are a pain to replace, but it can be done with the dash still in. Been there and done that on my old 07.

Perfect, thanks for the help. Anyone else have this happen to them? Any instructions on how to replace this part? I would rather do it myself then pay someone.

Had this happen, it was the a/c but took it to the dealer under warranty. I might try that route since yours still might be covered.

Mine is not under warranty anymore. i just bought the car from a private seller and it didnt do this when I tested the car but now it is so of course I get screwed over.
Do you guys know by chance what the part name or anything is or should i just call the dealership and say I need a new motor for the A/C?

I have had this problem for 2 years now... Because there are several mode door actuators behind the dash, you have to determine which one is bad. Here is what I did to figure out which one is bad. I noted where my control for the vents was set at when the noise occurred. Which was the 4 main dash vents. I moved the controls to the lower setting and then shut the car off. Restarted the car and no clicking. I then moved the control to the main vents and got the clicking. I get the clicking with or without the AC running. I do not think it is the gears as if I leave the main vents shut off for weeks and then switch it to the main vents, no clicking and they work fine. So my clicking is coming from the blend door actuator that opens the main vents. Hope this helps...

Ahh yes... the infamous "A/C Blend Valve" tick! Had it happen to me.

To add to this now my dome light has been going on for about 1-2 secs and then turning off. This is well after my door has shut and the light turned off from the door being open.

Any ideas on this?
