Thanks it did clean up nice, except for the striping which is badly weathered. We think all the wire harnesses were cut preparing it to be striped and they got caught before anything major was removed.

assuming all of the harnesses are inside the car can you not just splice them back together? seems like a quick and cheap fix

Op, Glad to hear it's yours free and clear!

You do not want to simply "splice" the wires back together. That could create an electrical nightmare to troubleshoot later on.

Either, buy replacement harneses and be done with it, or solder and heat shrink each severed wire to reduce the chance of electrical problems down the road.

Here is a link to some tips on how to properly solder wires to provide a strong troublefree connections. http://bolty.net/2010/11/08/how-to-s...c-connections/

Thanks for the tips guys, unfortunatly the complete engine harness is comletely cut out, the dash harness and body harnesses are cut in several places. They all have to be replaced. I have found some used replacements on e-bay. Luckily I worked for several years wiring aircraft, and now work in an auto plant as an electrical controls engineer. I feel confident that I can do the job finding time will be the hard part.
