Should i buy a GT?
#51
ok, so i'm almost ready to go for it and by the GT, i just cant make up my mind about going with the track pkg. or not. i'm going to drive the car in the winter and i think if i go with the track pkg, i will have to go with 19'' winter wheels. rite? if i dont have the Brembo's how small of a rim can you go down too.
as for the other parts from the track pkg, its not that expensive or hard to change the parts, the most expensive part is the brembo's and having to go with 19'' winters is going to mak it or brack it. i dont think i want to have to spend money on 19'' winter tires and wheels

I do not own one (I have a 2009) but I have contemplated getting one for a while. I came to the conclusion that I would wait a year and buy a leftover or used boss 302 for essentially the same price as a brand new 5.0.
Just my 0.02.
Just my 0.02.

ive got almost 22k on my 011gt. definitely do not regret this purchase one bit. aside from needing a new hood and front bumper due to someone backing into me at a stop light i havent had a single issue requireing a dealer visit other than oil changes.

Wheels and winter tires? Summit Racing has Ford Racing 19" "Track Pack" wheels for just over $200. The winter tires are an investment in safety and enjoyable driving under rugged conditions. "I can't believe how great my new snow tires are!"-a good friend.

What ever car you get, you will have to deal with the winter tire issue so this seems like a non-issue.
I hope this is useful.

This thread has been going on for sooo long. Buy a GT already! Track pack, snow tires, do it up! I just bought a 2012 GT 'Vert about 3 weeks ago. I traded my '02 GT, and I could not be happier. The car was high mileage (for a 2012), ~30K, but that just means it was broken in for me. You will not be disappointed with a new '13. Mine came with brand new winter tires, but that is just an excuse to buy a new wheel and tire package for warm weather from AmericanMuscle.

I have absolutely no regrets about buying mine. I love the car. The only thing that could close to being a regret is this... If I could've afforded to, I would have gotta the boss or maybe a stage one roush.
Definitely get the track pack.
Definitely get the track pack.
