To help clean the injectors, you could add about half a can of Seafoam to the tank of gas the next time you fill up and see if it could help... If nothing else, it will help with some of the carbon build up in preparation of changing the plugs...

Also, when was the last time you cleaned your TB? I could see gunk and sludge build up causing the butterfly to stick when you try to accelerate, causing a perceived loss of low end torque... Once it gets passed the build up then the butterfly is able to open up more smoothly, helping the car feel like it woke back up... Just a shot in the dark, and you probably already checked that, but just thinking out loud, so to speak.

Good luck.

Don

Don,
Thanks for the suggestion. I just actually ran seafoam though the tank on the last fill up an cleaned the TB about 2 months ago now. Those were the first two things I tried, but are a great suggesting and the seafoam will help with the plug removal...I hope.

Another trouble shooting thing... Have you performed a compression/leak down test? If so, what were the readings?

That's an interesting thought, I would think a check engine light would come on though...maybe not. I could probably use this excuse to get the delete kit.

I haven't done any compression testing yet, that's not a bad idea though.

Since you need to replace the plugs anyways, you should probably have this done while doing the change... You're going to be there already anyways...

I'd recommend ordering the Lisle tool from Amazon or eBay before hand and have it ready... I did when I planned on replacing my plugs on my 05, but ended up not needing it and selling it on eBay when I traded the car in.

More important than the actual psi is the variation from cylinder to cylinder... If any cylinder is more than 15% off from another, then it might indicate a problem... I found this to help explain how to...
