List problems For 06's

Hey lets see if Ford fixed all the 05 problems with the 06, list all problems if any with the 2006, wanna see if Ford fixed the fuel problems and popping noise in front suspension, and anything else us owners should know about!

I have noticed mine is slow to fill/less than full if i fill it with the front higher than the rear, filler lower than another corner of the car. I tried to keep adding fuel, and i think that is where i got the check engine light that came up with an evac leak code, nothing found. From now on, per the owners manual, no more than two shutoffs when refueling.

400 miles on my odo, and I had to bring it in for a problem with the Electronic Throttle. I posted a detailed message about this in the "General Tech" forum, perhaps this was the forum I should have used. (sorry, new here)

When I run the defroster on the cold setting it turns the ac on and the outside of my windshield frosts over. I'm thinking about talking to my dealer about this. Anyone else's 05-06 stang do this?

I was backing out of a parking spot last week and I knew I had a 1/4 of a tank left. The gauge went to empty and it turned red on me. Of course it only took 12 gal. It also happened a second time while driving in the mountains, and I have half a tank left.

Mike65,

The defroster is programmed to run the AC automatically. To assist in the defogging the windows, the AC dries out the air, and is a benefit in winter time, when the heat is turned on. Most US cars have run the AC in Defrost automatically for a long time, for this reason.

The only suggestion I have is if you're running the Defrost on cold, to use the dash vents, not the defroster. As far as I know this is normal operation, and shows that your AC is running well! (it's also mentioned in the owners manual that the AC will come on automatically in defrost)

UPDATE on my car: Electronic Throttle Warning Light..... the Dealer will replace the PCM (powertrain control module) early next week, apparantly the throttle control module and the PCM aren't communicating with each other. Haven't driven the car as it's now in "limp home" mode, and I learned the vehicle may run rich in this mode, and I don't want to mess up anything. I waited 22 weeks for delivery, I can wait another week.

Thanks 06YellowGT. I wasn't aware that modern cars used the ac with the defroster. My last/first car was a 65 stang. One of these days I'll finish reading that manual.

Good luck with your pcm.
