Contemplating Purchase -- 2013 GT Coupe

Right now, I have no debt and both of my vehicles are paid for ('02 Nissan Sentra & '04 Chevy Silverado) and run fine. I am trying to avoid "Mustang Fever" like the plague, but I have had four GT coupes so far and I daydream about one every time a 2013 drives by.
I have a son in ninth grade and before long, he will need $$ for college - and there is a good chance that my workplace is going to move to a new location farther away. Perhaps a V8 car is not a good idea if that happens. Grrr!!
Maybe I need to hold off until the 2014 models are released (late next summer, I suppose). What a dilemma!
I guess I should 'stay tuned' here on the Mustang Forum and learn as much as I can before making a jump. I may wait until my son begins driving and then "hand down" the Sentra to him and replace it with a 2014 GT. Yeah; that might work. LOL!

Pull the trigger.
Milham Ford in Easton, PA will sell you one for $100 over invoice, and you can get upto $4000 in rebates ($1500 automatically for it being a Mustang) the other rebates are based on Job, Military service, education etc etc.
Lots of great incentives.
A Deluxe GT, with 3.55, tech package and sync runs about $32,685.00 you can get it for under $30 K, to almost under $27k if every rebate applied to you. (Add $400 for Candy Red or GHIG paint jobs)
With the 14 build date coming next month, they need to clear 13's off the lot and quick. So they are practically giving them away.

I plan on test driving a '13 MT over winter shutdown since I'll have nothing better to do and have a Ford dealership not 10 minutes down the road from me.
Comparing what forum members say and online reviews, they both seem to have the same praises and complaints. The one complaint that I've heard the most about over the past year or so is that the steering wheel doesn't telescope which could be a major problem for you if you're on the tall side. Probably the one thing I'll never have to worry about being 5'7".
I will say this. Comparing my own finances upon graduation, I know I won't have enough for a new '13. However, this is a blessing and a curse. IF you can hold off the bug, I would wait until later in 2013 and ride it out with the Silverado. I predict that dealers would try to move mountains if they thought it'd help them get a '14 off the lot in anticipation of the 50th anniversary '15 models... I'd expect that those good deals you see now will only get sweeter end of next year...
But that's just my two cents; what the hell do I know?

I had an 08 GT for about 5 years and traded that in for a 2013 GT a few months ago. For the most part if feels like the same car, but with gobs more power, smoother transmission, and better handling!
I don't like that i'm forced to use the Sport setting for steering feel when I turn the traction control all the way off. This is also forced in sport mode. If you just press the traction control button, stability control stays on and it interferes with sideways shenanigans lol I prefer to monitor my own sideways shenanigans but I also prefer the comfort steering setting in most situations. Comfort is light and feels quicker than sport. Sport feels heavy and is annoying when driving slow and trying to park. It feels fine for spirited driving though, and probably keeps people from over correcting since it takes so much effort to turn.
Also, make sure to get the brembo brakes, they are amazing! lol

When I got my previous 5.0 last year (traded it on my 2013) I left the dealership and ran it to the governor, DID NOT like the steering at all and wondered why Ford had given us 412 hp with loose steering. Come to find out (a month later) it does have sport steering. I loved it, I haven't used comfort or normal or whatever since then, with either of my 5.0's.
The cool thing is, the electronic steering feels tighter the slower you go, and if you go fast, it sort of gains a bit of response and feels less tight, I take that to mean Ford wants us to drive fast? With the old hydraulic steering, it got tighter the faster you went and felt loose in parking lots and such.
