Default Premium Steering Wheel Part Number

Hey guys, was wondering if you can help me out. Wife just got a 2012 V6 Mustang and wants to swap out the plastic steering wheel for a Premium Leather one. I have searched and seen the the CR3Z-3600-AB is supposed to be that wheel but instead you get the Boss 302 wheel (which she does not want nor the GT500 wheel). So, does anyone have any info on the Premium Leather wheel? Would be thankful for any help. Thanks!

You're almost better off buying one used one someone upgrades to the Boss 302 wheel. See them going for sale all the time for $250 or less.

The DR3Z3600EA part number cross to a steering wheel assembly for roughly $150 at some of the various Ford dealers. Is this the regular Premium wheel?

If you have a base V6 steering wheel which only has one row of steering wheel buttons you can use the 3600-C steering wheel. I used this wheel. It is for the 2009 SVT, is leather wrapped and comes in either blue or red stitching. Check out V6 Mustang Performance for several articles on steering wheel installations. Here is mine:

Freyes, thanks for the info but my wife is looking for the premium wheel. So no one has ordered the basic leather wheel?

There is no "basic leather wheel".

If you want to put a leather wheel into a car that's got the base (plastic) wheel, you have two choices:

0) The Premium interior wheel, which has buttons on it that allows you to control the factory stereo. In order to make these buttons work, you have to take your car to the dealer and have them upgrade your car's computer to enable the buttons. The benefit to this is that it's essentially plug-n-play, and you don't have to worry about wiring harness mismatches. A possible downside is that you'll have to find a local Ford dealer that's willing to update your computer for you (some dealers won't do it).

1) A 2009 SVT/Shelby (and Bullitt) steering wheel with the same single-row buttons (cruise control only) as the base 2012 wheel. The only hassle with this wheel is that you have to swap your original buttons (from the base wheel) into the new wheel to avoid harness mismatches (and soldering). This wheel also has leather-covered spokes, as opposed to the 2012 premium wheel which has aluminum spoke covers.

And that is the problem. When trying to find a part number for the Premium wheel. I call it the basic leather wheel due to everyone seeming to want to exchange it (or the plastic wheel from the base model) with the Boss 302 wheel (which is leather and Alcantara) or the GT500 wheel (which is all Alcantara). This link here shows all three http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...el-wrap-2.html. With the top link going to a product not found page and calling the dealer about the DR-3Z3600-EA part number, they could not say if the wheel was the one I wanted or even if the wheel was a complete assembly (buttons and covers included). Anyway, I will figure something out. I do want to say thanks to all for the trying to help.
