Default 08 GT manual 5 to 6 speed swap question.

Guys can anyone tell me what would have to be done tuning wise to accomplish this swap?

Thanks.

Modify gear ratios to get proper mph. Otherwise, the tune has no effect on manual gear boxes. And there are lots of swap threads. I know for sure over on s197forum.com

No engine tune required.

If I may make a recommendation, check out the T56 Magnum for S197s. It completely gets rid of the crappy remote shifter design.

I've been on here for less than a month and learning about that transmission makes me all excited.... I don't want to do anything unnecessary on my V6 and have it only to learn the way of RWD and then get a GT, but these things are making me think about whole engine and transmission swaps!

Another gets bitten by the swap bug.

I love reading swap and rebuild threads, but I never had the thought or desire to do one. I just like reading the threads.

No engine tune required for the tranny swap that I know of.

But you might want to compare the individual gear ratios in the 6-speed you're considering vs the ratios in your TR3650 to make sure that you haven't made 1st either too tall (harder to launch/needs more clutch slip) or too short (1st becomes mostly useless). You might be in for a different set of axle gears to compensate.
