opinions on purchase please??
i went and looked at a gt today as i have a v6. i went to look and i didnt have any cash to put down because of christmas. anyways, since i still owe on my car, i wasnt sure what i would be getting in to. so i had them run the numbers. initially they had the payment about 60 more than mine right now. told them i wasnt comfortable with it, so they tried to get it within 40 of mine. its an ok car. no motor noises, transmission shifted fine, tires needed balanced though. and i really want a 5 speed. but, what do you guys think? mileage seems a bit high, and i dont go to work till wednesday so i cant get the car on a lift till then at our shop.

chiming in on something you didn't ask about .. you might already know all of this but just in case since it sounded like you were shopping based on the payment.. do not shop based on monthly payment amount! that's just asking a dealer to take advantage of you.
there are several factors that influence your monthly payment. you should know what your cars trade in is worth and what you will settle for on that .. you should know what you are willing to pay for the new car.. and you should know what APR/financing options you have in advance.
figure 200$/mo for every 10k financed on a 5 year loan with a decent apr.. and it doesn't really matter if you owe on your car or not - that is irrelevant. trade in value minus what you owe, then use this number as your actual trade in amount. sometimes you can even be a little upside down and transfer extra debt onto a new car loan, but you have to be well qualified and it totally depends on the lender.
as far as the GT .. totally on you, if you find that high of mileage acceptable, it sounds like you know how to mechanically look it over so I think you're covered there : )

Yeah skip on this one. That transmission is probably gonna give out within a year. That's just the bad luck of High mileage cars lol. That is too much though for the car. There's tons of mustangs for sale all the time. Just wait
