Default what were the stock tires on the s197 GT 17" rims?

2007 Mustang GT with stock 17" bullets.

So its time to get new tires, and I've decided I'd like the same ones that were stock. The problem is I cant figure out where to buy them. I have the 17" stock bullet rims.

I'm almost positive the stock 17" tires are Pirelli P-Zero Nero SUMMER tires ( 235/55-17 )...

The only I can find online are the Pirelli P-Zero Nero All-Season tires ( http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....oModel=Mustang GT&autoModClar=Coupe )

These look slightly different. The all-season have a symmetrical tread pattern ( http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...o_as_ci1_l.jpg ) whereas the summer tires have an assymetrical tread pattern.

If you know where to find the p-zero nero summers, let me know... I think im probably being too picky and the all-seasons are probably great tires. But I loved the stock ones.

Stock tires on the 17" bullitts were P-Zero nero M+S all season if I am not mistaken. I would take a quick look to verify for you but I have my snow tires on right now.

So yes the original (OEM) tires were all season tires with a symmetrical pattern (this I am sure of).

My apologies, I assumed by symmetrical you meant split down the middle of the tire, not down each channel (big DOH moment thanks to my bad memory). Yes, that is what the Pzeros looked like, however they were the M+S rated all seasons here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ero+Nero+M%26S

Sorry for the confusion.

those p-zero nero m+s are $300 more on tirerack (for a set of 4) than the p-zero nero

might as well get the cheaper ones if the only difference is the tread design. Although that tread design is so nice.

Appreciate the help.

No problem, I believe the M+S tires were effectively discontinued a while back and those all seasons were their spiritual successor. For what it's worth, the all seasons have better specs than the M+S tires do.

stock tires are 235/55/17 Pirelli Pzero all seasons. I replaced mine with Yokohama S. drives in the same size and couldn't be happier. Wet and dry grip is miles ahead of the pirelli all season tires.

If you need tires to last 60,000 miles, then go with all seasons. If you like having traction, then go with a high performance summer tire.

Correct.

The stock 17" Bullitt wheels are 8.0" or 8.5" wide. Something makes me think the latter; 8.5".

I switched to the Nitto Motivo on my 2006, in the stock 235-55x17 size and really liked them over the Pirelli Pzero's. They were a lot quieter.

I thought they were the 17x8 inch wheel? The bigger bullitts (premium package chrome ones) were 18x8.5 right?

Perhaps the GTs got a different wheel altogether?
