Default AEM CAI System for 13' GT?

Dose any one have a AEM Cold Air Intake System on there mustang. I have had them on trucks in the past, would like to put one on my 2013 GT. always liked the metal tubes better then the plastic on my trucks seams to sound better + no oiling the filter. Would this be a good choice for my GT? Any better suggestions? Would probably have a Bama tune in the future...

do intake and tune at the same time.

AEM is not popular on the mustang. get yourself a steeda or a airaid system

Keep in mind, metal inlet tube holds heat. I have the Airaid CAI with Brenspeed custom tunes and am very happy with it.

lmc122,

There is nothing wrong with the AEM CAI, however, I would lean more to a hardened plastic intake to keep lower intake air temperatures (IAT's) for more power. Airaid, JLT, Steeda, etc., all make a killer CAI that we've seen our highest power gains with. Plus, if you're not interested in a hardened plastic tubing, JLT makes a full Carbon Fiber intake that helps disperse any engine bay heat even better than hardened plastic - keeping those IAT's low. These would be more first choices for CAI's!

We also have all of these intakes available as a Bama/CAI power packaged. Ordering the package will save you a few bucks over getting the two separate and will give you the biggest power gains right off the bat.

Hope this info helps. If there's anything else I can help with, just let me know!

Shane
