Default Should I switch over to 4:10 gears?

I'm thinking about going from 3:55 to 4:10's.

What's everyone's thoughts?
How is it on the highway?
With a SC, how would it be on the track (1/4 mile)?
How did it affect your fuel milage on the highway and city?

Thanks

Can't speak for forced induction but I have never once regretted getting 4.10s. Best upgrade to date.

I'm contemplating the idea of pulling the 4.10's out when I install my D.O.B supercharger, first gear is all, but unusable and that's with n/a bolt ons, however it does make it really really fun with them. When does that e-force start building boost, I think a good compromise of 3.90's would give you that extra kick and help keep some of those mpg's.

Good question, I think around 3k but I'm not positive. Never took notice. I hear some say with 4.10's first gear is a waste with a 5 speed stick and other say no. So, I'm on the fence.

I think on the track the 4:10 should be great, I'll be running 28x10.5 (15 inch wheels) slicks. Oh, and my DD tires are 27 inch high on 20 inch wheels..

I have the 3.73 in mine, and I really like it. Can't tell you about the track (at least drag racing). I could see the 4.10 making 1st gear somewhat useless.

I've heard from others that for autocross, the stock 3.31 is the best.

Supercharged, 4.10s and I race it all the time. Works great for my car and the m90 is a roots blower building power at low rpms. You just have to learn how to control the power. I actually hardly ever have my car at full throttle on the street. Even with 285 tires out back they blow off real fast. With DRs it sticks like glue.

I have stock 3.55 gears. I get 27mpg. My buddy has an 07 with basically same mods as me except he has 4.10 gears. I ran a 13.2 and he ran a 12.9. He also gets 16mpg with his gears. These times were for the 1/4 mile btw and we both were on street tires. Hope that helps.

4.10's!!!!! Don't expect them to help you from a roll race, but from dig or 1st gear they are LETHAL assuming you can put the power to the ground. The car feels like a complete torque monster driving around town.

They are terrible on the interstate if you drive 85-95+. If you drive the speed limit they are no problem.

My MPG didn't change any on my daily commute. On the interstate running 80-95ish I get anywhere from 19-22. I got 27 with 3.31's, but I rarely make road trips so I don't care.
