Default 05 used car question..

so i posted a question about a mustang a week or so ago. well, the dealer called me to tell me they had one that i was looking for. its an 05 torch red gt, manual, right at 60k miles. now my question is this, it has a jlt intake on it, can i assume it has a tune as well? because my v6 has a tune, and i was going to return it to stock so i can get more tunes for the gt if i bought it. also, what would i need to do to find out if it does have a tune? if i did purchase..

some intakes require a tuning, that one may not? not sure. Even if it does, make sure you take it for a test drive and take note of any hesitation, stuttering, etc.

You've been around long enough to know about the various TSB's, especially the water leak. I'm not sure if the JLT is a no-tune required CAI.

I'm pretty sure that the JLT CAI require a tune......K&N is one of the only one's that I know doesn't.

If I recall correctly, the JLT does require a tune. The Airaid, K&N and some BBK CAI's do not require a tune.

I used to have a JLT, and it does require a tune.

The JLT does require a tune. Airaid, BBK, and K&N are the only companies that I know of off the top of my head that do not require a tune. So, it's safe to say that this GT does have a tune on it already, especially with a large intake like the JLT.

Hope this helps!

The dealer is responsible for everything that is on the car including in aftermarket tune, have them look and see if there is tune on it.

thanks guys. i went back today to look at the car in the day light since i only saw it last night in the dark. the tuner was in the back of the car so definitely needed that. unfortunately, the car was a bit more rough than it looked. idk if this one will work out either, i might need to go for a more stock car
