Default Everything works on my power seat except for forward and back

The seat doesn't seem to move forward or back anymore. It goes up/down from the back and up/down from the front, the lumbar moves in and out, but I can't get it to move forward and back.

I found this out when I was going to try teaching my wife to drive manual, so that seems to be out of the question just now.

Could it be something simple? Is there a way to move it manually?

The PS motors are crap in these cars. my 2011 PS went out at 55,000 miles, my 10's power seat went out at 20,000 miles.

I know when they were fixed the whole seat frame had to be ordered. You could try a scrap yard. yank the seat out of a demolished stang, hook it up and just go.

try messing/cleaning the switch connectors before you go any further.

Thanks, I'm going to take a look on the weekend, hopefully it isn't in need of new frames...

Every one I had problems with needed a new rack. My 07 BY got one new one....my 11 had two within a very short time of us buying the car new. I bet you need a new one. You cannot get parts from Ford since they sell the rack as a unit....no parts listed from my experience.

This sounds more like a disconnected or loose wires yo me. I had this happened to me in my other car. It turns out one of wire was disconnected.

Hope that's all it is for you too.
