Should I buy a 2010 or 2011

I have a 2010 GT with the 3.73 diff. I really like the car. The power is not as important to me as others here. For me, the 2010 is plenty powerful. The 2011 5.0 did have some problems with both the engine and the tranny, which were worked out in 2012-13. Look around for the #8 cylinder failing and shifting problems on the 6 speed for reference. There was a federal investigation on the transmission issues which resulted in Ford doing some fixes in the 2012's.
Both cars have the same suspension. So that's a wash. Body style and interior are the same too.
If the extra power is really that important to you, I would suggest looking for a 2012 or newer. If not, I would negotiate hard on the 2010 price. They are the ugly step daughters of the 5.0, and are not in high demand. They are great cars. I would say the top choice of the 4.6 models, but it is still a 4.6.

First off, I'll admit that I'm very biased in this argument. I own a 2010 Grabber Blue GT, and I love the hell out of this car. I owned a 2005 GT and loved the feel of the 4.6 3V. The engine seems to respond much more efficiently to mods. I have Headers, off-road x-pipe, axleback mufflers, u.d.p's, tuner, & CAI. With these minor bolt-ons I run dead even with 5.0's. It's funny though because when I bought my 2010, I saved about $6,000 by buying it over the 2011.
In the end, it's all about personal preference. If you don't want to put the work into the car, go with the 5.0.

The 2010 GT puts down 280hp, and 290 ft-lbs stock. The 2011-13 GT puts down 380hp, and 355 ft-lbs. Thats a difference of 100hp, and 65 ft-lbs. IMHO torque is everything. My 2010 puts down 378hp, and 404 ft-lbs of torque with full exhaust, CAI, underdrive pulleys, and a tuner.

Sorry but I have to say theres no way your car is making those numbers to the wheels with just exhaust intake pulles and tune. I'd say at best those mods make 310rwhp and 315tq. I had those same modifications on my 4.6 and the stock 5.0 feels like a rocket ship by comparison.

2011 should still have warranty for about 6 months and 6k miles with the option to extend the warranty
the 2010 is likely out of warranty due to the age (3 year 36k miles whichever is 1st)
also, 6 speed and like 100 hp more is nice, and a 5.0 will probably hold its value better imo
