Solid black racing stripes?

I was thinking about getting some solid black le mans style stripes on my '12 GT. But it already has Black 302 Hash marks. There are a few questions I have. 1. when I go to take the 302 Hashes off, (I would take them off if I was getting lemans stripes because I think having both is a tad too much) will the paint look different than the rest of the fender?
2. How involved is putting on something like the lemans stripes? Should I get a shop to do it? If so, how much would an average wrapping shop charge to do a couple stripes? Thanks in advance everyone.

I am trying to attach a photo in this comment to show you the hashes on the fenders. Also, here is the link to the stripes I was eyeing. http://www.americanmuscle.com/matte-...ipes-0512.html

I doubt you'll have fade that quickly especially being that its garage kept. You should be fine. As far as laying the graphic, take it to a shop. It's such a pain in the butt to get right that it's worth it to just pay someone with experience. For the amount of time you'll have invested trying to figure it out, you could have paid for the install. It should cost around $200 depending on the shop you go to. Would most likely be cheaper if you remove the stripes yourself and have them lay the other stripes. Do a search and you can find several different methods on how to remove them properly and quickly. Hope this helps.

Stripes

Thanks for your help man. If it wasn't for the amazing look they were giving everyone else I would just say keep the hash marks.

Yep, it depends on how old the car is and how long it bakes under the sun and avg temps (I know AL can get pretty hot) but being a 2012 and if it's garage kept, you'll be A-ok. I second what Baker said. I've laid stripes on a buddy's mustang before and it's a pain in the ass. Why not pay more and have it look like it came that way from the factory while you sit on your ass and watch a ball game? Sounds like a win-win to me.

I hear you. I'm all about saving a buck though. This may just be one of those things thats just not worth it. I appreciate the advice
