Default X or H

Looking at getting a O/R X or H pipe for my 08 GT. As of now its running MAC Axel backs, stock cats and H, and stock manifolds. From all the reading Ive done the concesious is that with chamberd mufflers such as mine the X pipe would be the better choice. I also read that the H pipe with chambered mufflers would cause the drone to be louder than it already is and a sraight through muffler is recomended.

Now Im down for less drone and a bit louder Exhaust note, but how Loud are we really talking with the H and chambered muffs? I ask because the X pipe I want is currently out of stock and I get antsy when I want to buy stuff and what I wants not avaliable.

I have an X....
Ford sells the X. Many on here swear by the H, but it's really up to you.

Its not so much a difference of volume but sound. The X will have a raspy note while the H will have a deep growl. That is why people swear by the H. It adds to the exhaust note in a way people prefer.

+1

Also, The X-Pipe is supposed to provide slightly higher HP gains over the H-Pipe. When I get around to doing my mods, I will be ordering the Ford Racing X-pipe.

How may of you are running a O/R setup? Im thinking a Cut and clamp H or X would be better deal since I live in a emissions area. That is unless yall can talk me into O/R setup. Just how restrictive is the factory cats?

As far as what causes drone......X or H please dont listen to me..... Im just regurgitaiting what I read on here today.

The MAC Pro chamber has crossed my mind, but if its not going to rid me of the 1850-2300 drone any beter than a X or H then why spent the $ on it? My biggest question is what makes the factory H pipe so bad? Iv looed at my cars exhaust and it apears to be the same size from the Cats all the way to the mufflers.......

Can someone aware me as to why you'd get an aftermarket H pipe when the stock exhaust has an H already?

I currently have stock mani's, h-pipe, no cats, 3" magnaflow magnapacks and its loud as fuark. Have a couple videos
