everyone can get it - some take longer than others. honestly, going out for a single session can't teach anyone how to properly drive a manual. you really have to live with a manual car as your only transportation for a period of time before it all clicks

driving stick will suck at first thats the truth its like basketball you dont get good in a day it takes practice and sure enough after a bit of practice you will enjoy it much more than any auto.

Why don't you rent a car with a manual (if you can find one) for a week and see how you like it. I've had mostly automatics as the mustang I just picked up from my Mom is but when I replace the motor I'm replacing the tranny with a manual.

Coming from a person who's 2 last mustang has been auto and my last is manual. Manual is ****, ill never go back, mind you I basically learned on the way home from the dealer. I have a bike so I knew the concept and drove couple manual cars.

Drive both, and then choose.. Manual is easy to learn but you'll have a few growing pains especially with that much torque under you (tire spin)

If heavy NYC traffic is the main driving you would do, the manual would be a PITA. I have the manual, and love it, but hate it when it comes to heavy traffic. However, in Colorado, I don't have to worry about heavy traffic all that often. Also, I'm involved in the motor sports and exercise the car from time to time. So, manual is the choice for me.
