You should KNOW what kind of fuel mileage your car gets. You drive it...

Begin logging your mileage and # of gallons you take at each fill-up, then hand calculate.

Yeah i didn't really want to bash this guy because i ABSOLUTELY hate this question when people ask it, because everybody's driving habits are different, and secondly, it's a simple google search that takes .688 seconds that will give you ballpark numbers. I just did the nice thing and posted a link, lol

Well, I didn't mean to bash if it came off that way. I simply find the notion of not knowing what the EPA mileage rating of the car you drive hard to fathom. And keeping track of one's own mileage is almost a necessity; at least to me; when it comes to properly maintaining your vehicle.

To the OP, 5 identical cars can get widely varying average fuel mileage due to variables such as driver habits, what your mix of city/highway driving is, temperature, windspeed, humidity, road surface composition, road conditions, tires and tire pressure, % ethanol in the fuel, condition of engine.... These are just the variables that are on the tip of my tongue.

You should keep track of your mileage so you know if there's a problem. If you suddenly go from 20mpg down to 15, then somethings not right.

I calculate mine every time and almost always get 17mpg. My 2009 buell 1125cr gets a whopping 32mpg and my 2002 cbr 954 gets an honest 38mpg.

It's a shame that Florida has year round riding weather, but such straight roads! People are always surprised when i say my motorcycle only gets 30mpg. I did get 45mpg on the highway though.
