New Kit motor or rebuild?
Greetings,
Current owner of a 2005 Mustang GT Auto with cold air induction, 410 Ford racing gears and a good custom tune. I run mid 13.50s at an average of 4000 feet above sea level. I want to do some work to the car, to start off rebuild the transmission to take the power and shut off the torque management system. Also want to add headers and h-pipes. So her is my question. Go with a new aluminator long block kit or pull the current motor and rebuild it from top to bottom. Looking to get the car into the mid 12s (high 11s at sea level) and keep is consistent. It wont do me any good to run a 12.49 one run then a 12.72 next time up. And Yes I would love to put in a 5.0 but too much work and too many things to go wrong.

Doesn't look like you have any mods that require a block replacement. Stock blocks are good to 600hp provided tune is on the button. Why not spend the money into build power then replacing the block at this time.
