Default Do I need to bleed new lash adjusters?

So I'm ready to install new lash adjusters, just can't find an answer that's clear as far as bleeding them goes. I'm not changing cams, just replacing stock lash adjusters.

I had them soaking in oil overnight, they just have no movement to them atm. I just don't want to smack a valve.

They aren't supposed to compress (much) when they have oil in them. The oil inside prevents them from compressing, which is the entire point in hydraulic lifters. If you have adjustable roller rockers, you want the lifters pumped up with oil (and therefor not compressing) so you can properly adjust the roller rockers. Having them primed with oil also helps when you start the car for the first time so there is less lag time waiting for the oil pressure to build up and pump them up for you.

You are fine. They can't hit anything. Be careful you don't scar up the camshaft when you pull the rocker arms out. That is really the only thing you have to worry about when you are working on this. You might as well paint your valve covers too while you have it apart.

I see that the garage told you a big one eh? It wasn't a bent rocker arm. If you've got the cover off you'll see that would be almost an impossibility. The lash adjusters just loose their oil pressuring ability, so they start to clack. At least this is an easy enough job to undertake. Good luck.
