Hmmm, that's the 1st thing I suggested to the OP in another forum a few days ago.

I have had issues with my transmission after I did a fluid change for the first time @ 76,000 miles. I think it could be low fluid issue but haven't tried filling it with more since I have had other issues lately such as my passenger side (side) airbag deploying for no reason. Try putting some more fluid in. It is a PITA to do yourself though especially without a lift.

I have a 2005 with an auto trans and a V-6. When the car is cold it takes, what seems like 2 seconds to slide into reverse. When its hot it seems to bsng into reverse after the same 2 seconds. Is the problem the solenoid pack or could it be something else???

A shortage of fluid will cause weird sh#t to happen. You gotta verify its full. Yes it's a pain but you either pay the dealer and trust them to do it right or you climb under there and do it.

MVP, are you sure you replaced the drained out fluid with same amount? I do it without a lift too but always make sure I put back in the same amount I take out.

No I'm not sure I was kind of in a rush that's why I think it's a fluid issue. Either way no matter what problem you got with the trans I think fluid is the cheapest and best place to start. I'll get back under it once I get my airbag issue straight.

I am going to have the trans flushed and see if that helps. I was told that there is a "KIT" that will fix the problem and I think it has to do with the solenoids. I will report on how the flush works.

I recently dropped my Tx pan and installed a dipstick. I measured the fluid that came out and was surprised to see that 1.25 liters drained from the fill port; 1.6 liters came from the drain port and 1.65 liters was left in the bottom of the pan - a total of 4.5 liters (about 5 quarts) and I refilled with the same amount. I thought that the fill port 'snorkle' was the correct level but mine was filled over this level. I don't have any issues with shifting. I love the dipstick. I can't imagine trying to add fluid up that fill port.

Snorkel is a good description of that little dealio. However you have to fill it, key is to replace what you took out. When I was filling via the snorkel it wouldnt allow me to put in enough fluid, it kept draining back out. I then measured what I took out and just pumped the same amount back in. Maybe my car wasnt exactly level as it was suppose to be. IDK Having since added the deep pan and dipstick, its way easier. If you dont want the deep pan you can just add the dipstick with a new stock size pan via Performance Automatic.
