About a month ago my air would only blow if it was on 4. It didn't matter what the other things were set to it would just shut off it I turned it to 3,2, or 1. After some research I determined it was the blower motor resistor. A week ago, I replaced the resistor and it worked fine, easy 20$ fix. Yesterday it started the same thing, only works on 4. Did I just get unlucky and get a faulty resistor or is something causing that resistor to quit working? I know it's only 20$ but I'd like to know if I replace it again it's not going to quit working in a week. I have had the 'famous' water leak into the passenger's floor.

My blower motor does squeak occasionally, I have to turn it off and wait a little bit to turn it back on to make it stop. Not sure if that has anything to do with this problem or not.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the blower motor is drawing to much! causing the resistor to blow!

If the blower is squeaking you will probably have to replace the motor assembly. Had the same thing on my dodge truck and that fixed it. The bearings in the fan motor are toast. The one for my truck was about $200. This may also be causing your resistor to go.

BrandonBlueStang- i knw it's been a while and i have an 03 convertible whil yours looks much newer - but was the resistor easy to get at? do i need to remove the dash console?
