GT500 or 5.0 or 4.6??
Planning my swap for the summer and trying to decide which motor to buy. Which will be the easiest swap? Will I have to customize for the GT500 motor as that's the one I'm kind of leaning towards. Give me your opinions on what you would do??

A few things to think about...
The 4.6 is a great motor but is low on power (same as current V6) until you get a blower of some sort, however it is essentially out of production.
The 5.4 is a great motor and is still in production, but again the power is low unless you have a blower with it, mostly a torque gain over the 4.6
The 5.0 (coyote) is a great motor and has good power from the start and should be in production for a long while.
So I'd say go for the 5.0, or if you plan on going FI, any of the 3 depending on price. One thing, your gauge cluster may only work with the 4.6 & 5.4 PCM.

You need some adapters for the motor mounts. I think brenspeed uses the boss block in their 326, so the adapters they sell should work.
What about transmission?
Boss 302 is $11k on ebay. It says engine mount is common to 4.6, so it should bolt right up.

From what I have seen it will cost you about $12,000 to swap to a 5.0 the right way. Im in the same position myself. Think I will change some of the internals in the 4.6, beef up the transmission and add a supercharger. And that $12,000 mark is on a GT. What have you done to your suspension?

I dont understand why people go through all of the work and customization for a motor swap..
if your motor isn't blown, why not just trade in, or sell your stang for a '11-13 5.0? I guess if you got a lightly used 5.0 motor for around $3k out of a totalled stang, did the entire swap yourself, you could save a few grand... but that's one huge headache imo
OR just supercharge your current stang. However you didnt even say if its a 4.0 or 4.6.... if its a 4.0 i'd definitely trade it in

It's the point of my car is paid off and I have the cash and time to do the swap. Plus I don't like the newer body style. Don't want a loan payment anymore. Don't want higher insurance. The list goes on. Mine is a 4.0 so 4.6 or 5.0 will be sweet. I might just do 4.6 build it then roots it.
