The diminished value claim can be hit or miss judging on experiences I've read online.
When a woman pulled out in front of me 2 years ago, I needed a new hood and front bumper (among other things) and I was able to go aftermarket no problem. The 05-09 stock aluminum hood retails for just north of $1k, but my v6 bumper was sub $200. New cervini's 2.5" cowl was $600 and the CS front cover was covered in the difference. Silver lining indeed
