Ok, so I am at a bit of an impasse here and am trying to decide what to do next on my car, so I could use some advice. There are three paths I could go and any of them would work. Money is not the main object, just doing it right.
1. Tires and Rims: $1200
This would probably have the biggest visual impact on the car. I don't need new tires by a long shot, but my wife does on her mini-van and we're due to get the brakes done anyway. With a little switching around, everyone could come out happy and I would have a set of take-offs in case I want to keep the new rims if I ever sell the car.
2. Shaker Hood Scoop: $750
Possible the coolest mod you could ever make to a Mustang and one I have always wanted to do and of these three the one I want most. Period. Not necessary, but I am pretty much drooling over the idea.
3. Body touch ups: $700-1000
Probably the thing that drives me most insane about my car is several door dings, small scratches and one nasty shopping cart dent that is going to run about $500 alone on the drivers door. All of this is probably not noticeable to the casual viewer who walks by the car, but when I look at my car, that is all I see.
So what are your thoughts on which way to go?

Forgot to mention the tires on the Mustang and her van are the same size so I could get the new ones and hers would be the takeoffs...

I had one door ding I had fixed by a local guy who does paintless dent removal. Body shop said they could NOT do it paintless and it would cost around $600. Took it to this guy and he took it out for $175 with no problem. I just got new wheels not too long ago. Really has a huge impact on the car. I have the same color as you too.

Dents first, then wheels and tires. Sounds like you aren't hurting for new tires so might as well ride these out for a little while longer IMO.
As others have said, paintless dent removal works wonders. So who knows, maybe just have the major ones taken care of, then you might still be able to squeeze out some new rims and tires? Who said you can't have your cake and eat it too...
