he guys so people here been leaning towards gears instead of x pipe so which gears is better for over all? i do mostly 40 mph roll start in stead of a quarter mile and i drive my car everyday to work and back so whats is the best bet to have thanks everyone for your help in my build!! i have 5 speed 05 mustang gt bama and jlt tuner combo race tune and pypes mullfer delete.

4.10s... Don't fear the gear, you are doing it for performance! My car has a TR3650 transmission with 4.10s and on the highway I am at 2800 @ 80mph... But I also have tall rear tires and usually only do 65-70 on the highway. It isn't as bad as people try to make it out to be.

For your car, with TR3650 and 4.6L I would go with 4.10s. Your car will get into the power band super fast and stay there.

i say 4.10s. i still have mine and all the parts and oil to install it sitting in the garage. just need to get them put it. every shop wants $500 to install though

An X-pipe and gears aren't two mods that you'd ever really consider choosing between.

If you do choose 4.10's, find a better reason than not being afraid to.

3.55, 3.73, 3.90, 4.10, 4.56, etc... If you don't know what your goal is or have a plan laid out to get there, then write each of these nubers on a sticky note, put them all on a dart board and fire away. Whichever one you hit first is the gear for you.

These guys know what's best. Put me down as another vote for 4.10 gears! I can't think of a better gear to really wake up your '05 GT. I'm sure you'll love it once you get them installed.
