Default Annoying squeak, u-joint?

I have an annoying, metal on metal squeak, not an exhaust rattle type sound. It seemed to start out of nowhere, not after any parts swap, but it starts when I go 55ish, then will make the noise over every bump and deceleration until I stop. Once I stop it is fine. I think it is the u-joint, I swapped out my diff cover, panhard and h-pipe today, the gears looked fine (4.10's) so I think I can rule that out.

Now, my problem here is that my u-joint is one of those $30 ones that costs $700 to replace, i.e. not replaceable without a new driveshaft. Before I throw $700 at it, I would like some opinions. It starts at highway speed, which leads me to believe that it is a drivetrain issue, not engine or exhaust because it is not related to rpm in any way. It sounds as if it is coming up my shifter, which confirms this to me. The only thing holding me back is the price tag, and if I am wrong and it is in the dash I will be a little upset, but has anyone ever had a dash squeak that starts at highway speed? I need some opinions, sorry for the long thread, I am a little frustrated by Ford choosing to use a u-joint that cant be replaced.

Are you getting a vibration? If you can get the car up, you can should be able to see rusty dust coming from the u-joint if it is dab. A real fine powder. You will also be able to take up the slack in the u-joint. 9 times out of 10 a u-joint will give you a thumping sound from a dead stop or when you let off of the gas and get back on it.

No clunk, can't notice any dust ds is rusty as is, and not much slack in the drivetrain. I do have a slight vibration in the steering wheel but I always attributed that to the aftermarket wheels. My father had a junk u-joint not that long ago and it was tight and felt fine, but he had a nasty vibration. I might just order a driveshaft anyways, I just was looking for some opinions.

If it were me I would just go ahead and buy an aftermarket aluminum drive shaft. It is going to set you back the same amount of money, and you will be able to change the u-joints further down the road.

Factory UCA, maybe that is it but I'd be surprised just because the problem only pops up when I get to speed. We will see tomorrow, the ds will be in then.

Edit: and no doesn't sound like that at all, it is more of a chirp, hard to explain and tough to hear on a camera.
