Default Brenspeed B326 Install

I have gotten a request to start a thread about the B326 install I had done a couple weeks ago, so here it is:

The whole experience was great, took a whole week, drove out to Indiana and I stayed in Brenspeed's guesthouse for free. Dropped the car off on Monday and the K-member, motor and all, was out by the end of the day. Tuesday was parts swap day, Wednesday she was running, Thursday was break-in day, and Friday she was on the dyno getting tuned.

Had one big hitch at 4:00 Friday afternoon on the dyno when she spun the alternator pulley off (I had installed it with blue locktite 3 yrs ago when I installed the E-Force myself). Luckily the alternator was still good (my 2009 has a 2010 150 amp alternator, as we found out, and nobody anywhere had any in stock), thankfully the pulley did not go through the front cover, and Brent called Edelbrock for a new alternator pulley. Edelbrock promised it would be there first thing Saturday morning. They did not lie, the UPS guy was at the shop at 8:00am Saturday. With the alternator all cleaned up and pulley RED loctited on, Brent did some dyno power runs Saturday morning. Highest hp was 558 and highest torque was 570. Around 12:30pm on Saturday I started my journey back to RI. Got a consistent 21 mpg on the way back.

The engine now consists of:
·Brenspeed B326 Shortblock – 9.8:1 Compression
· SVT BOSS 5.0 Cleveland Iron Block – 3.700 bore
· CP Forged Pistons & Rings
· Manley Stroker Connecting Rods w/ARP 2000 Bolts
· Kellogg Forged 3.800 Stroke Crankshaft
· 2013 GT500 Oil Pump
· ATI Super Damper
·FRPP Stage 1 CNC Ported Cylinder Heads
· Comp Cams Beehive Valve Springs/Retainers
·Brenspeed Detroit Rocker Blower Grind Cams - .450 Lift
·Edelbrock E-Force TVS Supercharger/2.75” Pulley (14-15 PSI)
· 2013 GT500 Intercooler Pump
· AFCO Heat Exchanger w/ Dual 10” Spal Fans
· Brenspeed Dyno Tuned (street) – 93 Octane

Could have gotten even bigger numbers with Stage 3 heads, bigger cams and bigger injectors, but since this is my daily driver, we went conservative to preserve driveability.

The Torque is simply unbelievable, even when not in boost. The torque comes in low, right around 2k rpm, which is perfect when cruising (even in OD) and you need to pass a slowpoke or something. You do not even need to downshift or kick it down. It just pulls like a freight train.

Under boost, it is scary fast. She will break the tires loose at any speed. I really need some MT's.

Ryan did the vast majority of work on the car and it is all top notch. His attention to detail was fantastic, even down to replacing an iffy petcock on my AFCO radiator.

Kudo's to Brent and all the gang at Brenspeed. I would not hesitate to take my stang out to them again

Years ago I started with a tuner and a Brenspeed 93 octane tune. Tried others but they did not compare to that tune. Soon found out that Brent will not sell you anything that you don't need or that doesn't work for your application. They race what they sell. Over the years, customer service was always excellent too.

Sure, there are other places out there with stroker engines that may be just as good, but I trust these guys and I have been a satisfied customer for a few years now.

Also, it helps that Brenspeed does nothing but late model Mustangs and F150's. They know them like the back of their hand.

Congrats!!! I was there doing the same thing last fall. Their customer service, attention to detail, and passion for their work is outstanding. Everyone that works there is extremely professional. It was like mini vacation too. I can't say enough about Brent and his crew. My Brother was able to meet me there half way through the build, and we had a great time. It was my second visit out there from N.C.

I just ordered a pair of BMR lower control arm relocation brackets from them yesterday so I can get better traction. I'm running Nitto NT 05's, and they still spin easily.

I'm glad you had a great experience, and definitely enjoy your new found power!!!

I am curious what that B326 block ran you. I plan on doing FI this year and next year forging the bottom end to put bigger boost on the car. I plan on using the KB 2.3L S/C for the interchangability but I am really eyeing that B326 block... If you don't want to put it out in the open PM me, thanks!
