Default Well there's a $320 mistake...

Last month when I installed my light bar, apparently some of shavings from drilling the holes fell into the refractory or something. I had read warnings about that, but I ignoredthem and now I'm literally paying for it. The seat belt jammed in the retracted position and rather than listen to the seat belt chime while the wife was in the passenger seat, I cut the seat belt and put the little tab in the latch. I tried finding a used one, and got jerked around for a month by an online salvage yard. I thought about using a rebuild service on eBay, but I really don't trust anything on eBay. Finally, I ordered one today from Late Model Restoration for $318.00.

See what impatience and stupidity can do for you?

Too late now, but you could have stopped by the dealership and asked for a seat belt extender. They give them away if you ask for one, and it has the end to go in the receiver and will end the chime because the circuit is completed.

Damn, before I cut the seat belt I would have removed the seat belt assembly to see if I could get whatever if anything in it out of there.

Like I said, stupidity and impatience. If I had any idea what a pain it would be, I wouldn't have touched it.
