Default Lowered Mustang, Can I switch 20's for 17's stock without raising?

I have a 2005 mustang v6 base, it is lowered and I currently have 20 inch tires on there. They are 25535zr20, and 28530zr20 staggered.

Can I just slap on some stock tires without raising the car again, or am I stuck with 20's?

I commute for work and I am blowing through my front tires, probably 5-6k miles and they are bald.

I am looking to buy some OEM take offs to put on.

Thanks for any help!

My 05 mustang is lowered and has 20" rims and before I took it to the paint shop to have the stang repainted I put my stock 17's back on with no problems at all. Shouldn't matter because the stocks got more rubber the 20's got lower profile rubber on them so there pretty much the same just more rim less tire on the 20". And I hope you mean rims not tire swap cause you can't get 17" tires on a 20" rim.

Thanks guys, I thought I could, but some mechanic gave me some b.s. excuse saying he couldn't do it and it would cost thousands to fix the shocks etc.

Yes I meant tires and rims, that would have been interesting trying to get a 17" on a 20" lol

As the others have said, yes.....the overall diameter is the same as stock, so it won't matter.....but my question is, why are you "blowing through your front tires every 5-6k miles"?

Something is not right. You should have that checked.
